Who is 100% on their own here?

So ladies and gents.....lets talk about going into Canada again. I really need to make myself available for loads going in. I sure see a TON of their trucks here!

So what will my first time be like? Assuming I do nothing ahead of time and I just roll up with the proper paperwork from the broker/shipper what can I expect? Do I HAVE to do anything as a carrier BEFORE heading up? Or can I deal with it all at the border? After the first trip, assuming I get what I need, will future trips up be more expedited?

I REALLY don't want anymore dang accounts/passwords/numbers/bla bla bla etc...!

 

So....who in this thread....that is 100% on their own.....runs into Canada? I am willing to bet NOT ONE! Because I am trying like hell to figure it out and it is super confusing and I feel like you need to have a dang office person to even try. LOL.

Apparently I started it once and had a login.gov account but now do not have the "security codes" required AFTER logging in...and you need to go through this to apply for a FAST card!

Really man! Mr. Biden....Mr. Trudeau.....tear down that wall!

I have started a help ticket with login.gov but it appears I will need to delete my account completely and start over JUST TO RECEIVE new "security codes" to proceed.

 

I have a passport and TWIC but they have zero to do with commercial trucking into Canada....at least as far as I can tell! LOL.

 

Well I would not be surprised if you or any of us are misinformed on this particular topic. It feels like it is by design. Along with a few other topics.

This is why I started this thread. Us little carriers need to get together and share information because the big carriers, if they even had someone here reading, are absolutely not going to share anything at all with us.

I am committed to sharing EVERYTHING I learn here in this thread. 6 years and counting of carrier knowledge.

 

I WILL hammer this FAST card crap out and share away when I do.

I remember trying to call Canadian officials the first time I tried and haven't been blown off that hard since I was a college kid hitting on girls at the bars!
