I agree, we need all of the help we can get. I mean, we've already done the dumbest thing we could do and bought trucks to start with.

I've been across the border a few times in a 4 wheeler and once in the truck with a placarded tanker. On the Canadian side I had to go inside and get cleared with immigration. Was asked when was I arrested. I knew he had it on his screen. Asked him which time he was talking about. He said welcome to Canada and I was on my way. Every time, car or truck, it was more hassle getting through our CBP coming back than it ever was going into Canada.

I have been there in a car several times too. No issues.

What year did you go into Canada in a truck?

The mystery continues. I have reset my login.gov account and will continue pursuing that...but in the meantime OOIDA referred me to 730permits...which will do it all for a fee....except their phones are dead! (800 410 4754) LOL. Unreal man.

I have not paid anyone a penny up to this point as far as getting set up for US interstate but man I am ready to throw my money at someone who can say, "you are goo to go into Canada have a nice day, eh!".

OK 730 permits called me and they are emailing me everything I need to get set up. It appears I don't need a FAST card but "it helps" whatever that means. LOL. She said whatever broker gives me the load will be setup for that and have a customs broker in on the deal....so I don't need my own customs broker relationship.

    Hi Matt

Further to our conversation the following is required to be setup for all of Canada:

    Ontario CVOR – cost $255.00 + our service fee $200.00 – can take 3 – 4 weeks to process

    Quebec NEQ – cost $347.00 + our service fee $210.00 – can take 5 – 10 days to process

Quebec Power of Attorney - $150.00 – we must have a representative in Quebec

Quebec NIR – cost $73.00 + our service fee $115.00

British Columbia Financial Responsibility Number (MV-23) – this is an insurance filing so please check with your insurance agent to see if they do these filings. If they don’t than you can obtain temporary permits to enter BC.

SCAC Code (US border code) – cost $82.00 + our service fee $51.00

Canadian Carrier Code (border code) – no cost; just our service fee $70.00 – can take 2 - 5 days to process

Paps and Pars Labels (bar code labels for customs paperwork) - $80.00 each for 1000 stickers + $25.00 shipping

ACE/ACI Electronic Manifests – setup fee $105.00; thereafter we charge $10.00 per manifest; $4.00 to fax to your customs broker; $3.00 to obtain your entry number; $5.25 for any additional bills of lading or amendments

If you wish to proceed, please complete and return the attached client information sheet, power of attorney and credit card authorization forms. I will require a copy of your LLC paperwork as filed with the state, a copy of the driver’s license for all members and a copy of your vehicle registration/cab card.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

    Thanks
