Need advice for line haul opportunity

Run far, run fast, don't look back. You'll get just under 80 cpm. I know team drivers making that who don't have to buy a truck and then pay for insurance, tires and maintenance.

 

$355 per day? Let's say you burned a tank of fuel per day, and call it about $300 in diesel. That means you make $655 per day. Did you really spend the time and money to get your own numbers, and your own equipment to turn around and make $655 per day?

 

Too cheap! That is driver pay, you will never be able to afford to repair your truck!

 

Definitely too cheap. Even with them furnishing fuel. I am sure, if they furnish fuel, that will be with ‘strings attached’, such as you must have truck governed to a max of ‘X’ mph, no idling longer than ‘X’ number of minutes, truck must be no older than ‘X’ model years old. In other words, no running a 25 yr old large car w/8V92 opened up to triple digits.

 

Barring any major repairs you are looking at a bit over a dollar a mile including fuel. +/-

 

How often do you have to replace your brakes on a pickup? I’d imagine they don’t stop nearly as good as a class 8 truck and trailer.
