Owning a truck and being a carrier has helped me learn to roll with the punches.

    a truck driver...appreciated..???

    that's like a turtle without a shell

    or,

    a rose without it's petals

    or

    a toll plaza that's free.

truckers are only appreciated when they leave the fuel island after taking thier 10 hour break, or when they get up off thier fat butts from the truckstop counter, so it'll be ALL quiet again...

    good luck to you.

    teachers rock...!!!!!!!!

    if it's over the road ask yourself these questions;

    do you enjoy solitude?

close quarters, cozy or claustrophobic? sleepers are small and that's your entire world mostly.

can you go hours without checking or responding to the "idiot phone"?

are your relationships concrete or do they need your constant presence to function?

I thrived on OTR and had 2 great marriages,(widowed twice). raised semi well adjusted kids. lol

People made me hate people. What they call people nowadays barely pass for human. Homo sapien scientifically means Thinking Man. Do people think? You have Braindeads who can’t remember their infants and toddlers in the backseat of a car? Really? That stupid and having offspring??? Protect the herd: A Braindead bakes a kid in a car in the middle of summer, PROTECT THE HERD and kill the parent! You sure as hell don’t allow them to get their genes out into the gene pool. Thanks Jimmy Carter for allowing people who should have died as children the opportunity to pollute the gene pool.

I don’t know if trucking in general changed me, but the LTL business most definitely did.

Two things I have zero use, time, or respect for are “lazy” and “stupid”, and my coworkers all know it. The ones who actually earn their paychecks are either fine with that or feel the same way, and the ones who don’t?

Well, they can take a long walk off a short cliff. Addition by subtraction.

I grew up in the Oregon woods. Driving a logger was excellent. The scenery & wildlife. As the economy changed so did the driving jobs. I loathed driving a CMV on the pavement. Way to many idiots behind the wheel. The last 18 yrs of my career was off road again and high paying till retirement. If I ever drove a truck again it would be too soon.
