Got my coolers off in Ogden yesterday then got bounced all the way down to Hurricane, UT to reload supposedly going to an Aldi DC near the Houston, Tx area. Get to shipper and checked in and loaded in ten minutes after hitting the dock being was only a few pallets of shelving related stuff and metal frames for the shelving. Get the bills and the ship to address is different than Qualcomm. Bills say it is going to an Aldi store in the same area and not the DC. DM calls RVA and all they did was check the system instead of contacting the broker or the warehouse and told my DM for me to go to the bill to address which is the DC and not the ship to address....well my gut instinct tells me it is going to the store that the ship to address says. My DM thinks it is supposed to go to the store too....Im going to call the DC myself to check because Ill miss the receiving hours Friday morning anyway which is the soonest Ill get there and will have to sit around all day til Saturday, but I can make the store being it don't open til 0900. If only Tx wasn't such a long way across, lol!

Do you have the broker info? Or can you get your DM to give it to you if possible so you can call them yourself? Sucks that we have such lazy people in dispatch that they just give you the easiest answer possible. And they say without them, we would be lost..........Oops! There I go being negative Nancy again..........What I meant to say is that you should be a good little driver and go to the DC like the bill to address and RVA said. Then when it’s wrong, make sure they pay you for a layover, an extra stop, AND whatever else you can think of. (Dang it, did it again! Sorry. Not sorry.)

What’s really missing in that part of the world is a 9.0 on the Richter scale, centered 1.5 miles due west of the bridge, a hundred yards either side of exit 280.

How times have changed. When I was driving for Carolina Trailways out of Norfolk, the least little dent or scratch on a bus, they would trace it down to the driver who did it. When you did a pre-trip, you better report everything thing and I mean everything, before you moved. But now even UPS, where my son drives, they take the attitude, "oh well".

CH Robinson is the broker but I needed the load number which I don't have and I also called the DC and the operator gave me the receiving extension but they were hone for the day. Called my DM today and she told me to stop calling ppl and just more or less act stupid even though she agreed with me that the load is probably going to the store and not the DC. She was supposed to call RVA again and get back to me. I just don't want the hassle of driving to the DC and knowingly arriving after receiving hours plus knowing I need an appt and also be told the load goes to the store not the DC. If noone wants to do their job Ill do it for them, Im not afraid to step on ppl's toes when the need arises.....maybe I should I should have not told my DM I made some phone calls, lol!

Exactly! In orientation many moons ago, we were told not to ever call shippers/receivers. Nah! I call and ask questions, directions, etc. all the time. Don’t tell me I can’t call someone! Besides, it saves me from dealing with a lot of BS like you’re dealing with right now. And I hate BS. Besides, sometimes it’s nice to be able to go, “nanny, nanny, boo, boo” and “I told you so” to dispatch. LOL
