My manager said tomorrow he wants to ride with me on my route, why would this happen? Any ideas why they would want to do that? It’s never happened to me before

Could be as simple as like my company. Corporate policy states management has to do x amount of ride alongs and evaluations per month.

Lots of is would welcome that. It may be that he wants to see things from a drivers perspective rather than thru the lens of a office idiot that doesn’t have a clue. Maybe wants to see how customers are and other minor details maybe something going on with a customer and he wants first hand knowledge

The COO were i worked wanted to take a ride also with me out of our Northridge office , i took him to a load in at Staples Center , after that friends for life , dont sweat it you will do fine and maybe get free lunch.
