I had a problem once in Va. about 12 yrs ago. Last time I’ve been there. Think I’ll be sure to avoid all of them.

This requires a Big BS call.
Have delivered to both Lowe’s and Home Depot DC’s all over the country. They operate almost exactly the same.

An appointment is required. No appointment, no entry.
They do not do D&H for non-contract companies.

    I’d just leave .
Why would you wait more than a few hours tops if you arrived on time ?
I’d ask them to sign the bills as refused and
I’d take the load back to wherever you picked it up from.

What company operates the DC for them? The one in Ohio is horrible, spent all day there waiting on a drop and hook!

Um, I don't believe this is true.

I had a run-in with a receiver taking in coffee beans from Mexico. They said I missed my appointment (I notified my dispatcher the day before that I couldn't make the appointment) and so when I showed up she was so mad she cursed me out. After 6 hours I told her I was leaving with the product still on the trailer. She said if I leave she would call the police for grand theft. I called my dispatcher and they told me that once I arrive if I leave I can be arrested for theft.

I don't know if this is really true but both her and my dispatcher agreed it was.

I guess in hindsight I should have said "Ok" and dropped the trailer in their dock and left bobtail. They only had one operational dock so that would have been really interesting.

I threatened to leave with my trailer and was unload 45 minutes later . It could be a ugly situation all around but I was never supposed to drop , my broker screwed me and left it up to me and the Home Depot to figure it out .

Until they sign for it…it’s not theirs…Technically it’s still in your custody at that point if their signature is not on the bills yet

Yeah it's not theft. The property is in your possession. Until they sign for it. You are being paid to transport it. So it's technically still the shipper's property. Tell them. You're going to return it to the shipper. If they don't take it off.
