I recently was working for a hot shot company and I never made more than 600 with that being I would be out for mabye a week and would get 500 what's the pay rate for hotshot drivers I hear they should get 20 percent of the load plus whatever miles they go I would really love some insight on the matter I loved driving just hated the pay

$500-$600 a week being away from home living in a pickup blows man. Sorry, can't think of a better adjective to describe it..
20% of the load & mileage pay seems unreasonable.?

It's usually one or the other. 24%-27% of the load gross, or mileage pay + accessories.. (tarp, stop, detention, layover, etc.)

I ran a hotshot for 5 years. Made enough money to step up (my opinion) to a old FLD & new 2020 stepdeck all paid for. My belief is there isn't enough money running hotshot freight to paid yourself, operating expenses, & a driver. Need to either run your own rig, or drive a hotshot for a company that delivers their own in house freight with one..

I don’t know anything about hotshot. In fact, I don’t even know what it is. But, that kind of pay SUCKS! I wouldn’t get out of my coffin for that!
