OP were you always steering to one side or the other to keep going straight? That was the complaint from a driver who's steers were gone by 80K. Dealer swore the front end was aligned to 'spec'. Three axle alignment took care of the problem by replacing the torque arms on the rears and making all three axles parallel.
You have been given a good ideas, kingpins, balance, alignment and 3 axle alignment are all key. So is trailer axle alignment when you stay with one trailer all the time, so will an un-lubed 5th wheel when you stay hooked all the time.
Some guys swear by the 'centramatic' balancing rings, some by the bag of 'stuff' poured inside the tire. Many are on their own trek to discover the longest tread wear for their own stuff.
I had an owner operator who bought ten new tires then went to a 'specialist' who spins them while shaving the tread surface to make the circumference perfectly round because it promoted better overall wear and improved ride by making each tire perfectly round...the guy says you really doubt what you are letting them do as the rubber bits fly off of brand new tires...but he said he could feel the difference.
It could be science, witchcraft or just good wrenchin'; the steering tires do tell the health of your suspension
