One person was seriously hurt.
A multi-vehicle wreck that forced a trucker to leap from his wrecked, flaming truck left four injured, police say.
The accident happened on Tuesday, May 11th in Boise, Idaho on I-84 near the Cloverdale overpass at 7:34 a.m.
Idaho State Police are investigating the incident and say the wreck involved a total of nine vehicles. Investigators say the wreck started when a red Toyota Tacoma pickup heading eastbound suddenly changed lanes and struck the semi loaded with lumber. The impact forced the semi truck to sideswipe another four wheeler before crashing through the median, colliding with a westbound semi truck, and bursting into flames. Debris from the semi collision then went flying into the air and crashed through the roof of a passing Toyota Camry, knocking the driver unconscious. The Camry and driver were found a half mile away from the crash, and the motorist was transported to a hospital with life threatening injuries.
The lumber-hauling driver was able to escape his wrecked rig on his own, and passing motorists even captured his escape on video. That truck driver, the driver of the red Toyota pickup, and one other motorist were later transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Their identities have not been released, reported KTVB News.
The initial crash caused a chain reaction pile up involving six eastbound vehicles and three westbound vehicles; this included a semi truck in each direction.
Both sides of I-84 were reduced to one lane as crews worked to clean up the wreckage. All lanes of traffic were reopened at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The incident is still under investigation.

The better question is, what was that driver doing in lane #4?

It's legal to be in any lane through Boise

Avoiding the mergers in Boise with those Idaho drivers is a prudent decision. But you can’t escape them all obviously. Can’t tell you how often I have to avoid being side swiped through there.

Is it just me or are major accidents seemingly happening daily in places they didn't used to with such frequency???

Dang. The Camry rolled another 1/2 mile with the driver unconscious. What would happen if a Tesla kept rolling all the way to Portland?
