Yes I believe so. The most common combination in eu is 16.5 m truck and trailer. With a larger cab it will be 17.3 m something and legal in every country in eu. I hope that our 25.25 m will be extended to becous it's a eu regulated combination. Our 24 m combination is old swedish regulation so it would surprise me a lot if we would get bigger cabs on them. Although 24 meters are most common.

in average trough last 25years, fuel consumption reduction goes like 1% per year so this is a huge step to get 15% in 6years, so traditional things we are getting used are going to be changed for sure.
in stop and go distribution, construction, heavy haul. etc you cant do much to cut fuel consumption, it is same in last 30years, so they will probably have to limit amount of models in this segment to keep average co2 of entire fleet down. they already offer alternative fuel solutions just to say we lowered our average.
this same thing is happening to car industry, so i guess it will be on trucks too.
i did not had to time to see how they plan to do with e7, if they will go down with nox further there is no way they can lower fuel consumption in engine itself.daf105paccar Thanks this. -

you get interior length 13.62m. total length incl tractor is 16.5m. mb has so far longest cab, 2.3m so you have 160mm between trailer corner and cab while it is steering, we had one case with our demo tractor where trailer hit cab in kyrgyzstan. people who do such roads will typically move 5th wheel one hole back
rigid truck + full trailer or central axle trailer is 18.75 overall length. sum of external lengths of body and trailer body is 15.65m. minimum distance between truck and trailer is 75cm, so this leave 235cm for cab and gap between cab and body (235+5cm). when we go with this minimum gap i recommend to use spring suspension on cab instead of air to prevent it to hit.
this is law from 6/1996medioker, daf105paccar and haycarter Thank this. -
before that law we had this
external cab length 133cm, no cab suspension, 1cm gap between cab and body, 56cm between truck and trailer, external length of bodies 2x8.05m overall length 18.00mm, 40euro pal.
medioker, daf105paccar and haycarter Thank this.
