A study of the origins of fake news disinformation regarding Covid vaccines finds that 65% of the falsehoods originate from a grand total of twelve people, most of whom operate multiple popular social media accounts, and some of whom also sell "alternative medicine" supplements and books. Turns out, most of them have been spreading medical disinformation for many years - since long before the advent of covid - often simply in furtherance of boosting sales of their own "alternative medicine" products and literature.

Prior to Covid during the Obama administration, I've read in the Wall Street Journal that China wasn't giving World Health Organization their infectious disease stats. It sounds like another conspiracy theory, because I can't post a link here since the article is so old and WSJ has a paid subscription. And it's still unknown how many governments and global companies were involved in the Wuhan Institute of Virology. How do these governments want their citizens to trust these vaccines if these governments don't want to share this vital information specifically Gain-of-Function (GoF) research at the Wuhan lab?

The misinformation is on all sides. Every organization, person, group etc has some sort of agenda. The $64,000 question is how hard they wish to push their agenda and for what gain. Sometimes the gain is power, sometimes financial, sometimes the opposite, just to throw a wrench into the works.
The internet/smart phones/technology has just made it move much faster than humankind has ever seen.
