I need some help finding insurance for a new authority

So far I got a quote for the only company that will take me right now which is Progressive for a 5300 down payment and 2400 a month. Do you know of any cheaper companies? Haven’t made any big moves yet. Just put a hold on the Freightliner I’m buying. And I’m going to be working for Dre alliance at Long Beach port.

Can I go any where else? If I cant should I get an agent or should I deal with Progressive direct?

    Any help appreciated thanks!
And please no hateful comments I’m just trying to plan things out!

Try great west. I use them, about 14k a year, 500k. In cargo insurance, most people run 100-250k in cargo. I needed more, that added about 2500 a year.

We are in the Midwest. We are brand new. We just got insurance through progressive and we didn’t have to give anything down. Our insurance is 1400 a month but maybe it’s where you are based out of.

Check OOIDA . The last I heard OOIDA and Progressive were the only two covering new authorities.

All the brokers I deal with will not give somebody a load if they have Progressive Insurance in fact most of them post.. "WE DO NOT ASPECT PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE " on their loads

That's interesting. I've never seen that. But I haven't dealt with brokers for a year now so maybe it's something new.

Progressive was the only one that would touch me when I started, went down $7300 after the first year for being a good boy, I’ll probably shop around for my next renewal
