I use the copilot and a Dezl 740. I’ve only used the dezl the last month or two. It does goofy things sometimes. But eta adjustments, upcoming, and on the fly is why I like to have it along with copilot

I recently bought the Garmin OTR 700. I’m very pleased with it so far. The new RM unit have horrible reviews. The Garmin isn’t as fancy as the RM, but I like it.

I use the ‘Hammer’ app for routing, mileage and time for truck friendly routes. It’s pretty nice.
I have a RM but I’m not happy with it lately. It freaks out and turns off a few times a day. I replaced the cord. Didn’t get better. Think I may try the garmin next.

If it's the Dezl 700, it's great for most areas...but mine won't route me west of Big Springs NE or parts of WY across 80, keeps claiming there is a 10 ton weight limit(even when I drop my gross weight to 10,000 lbs), it still routes me off the interstate and onto US and state highways. And I've got the most up to date maps available. The only way I can get thru it without endless recalc's is switch it to car mode.

My old RM would lose it’s mind anywhere near Columbus Ohio. The new Garmin has a few weird glitches, but hey, don’t they all?

Same experience with my last two RM and lost of satellite or connected parts breaking off. I called them and got a new part and it only lasted two weeks. I got my new Garmin 1000 and learning to use all its new features. So far so good but like Mitruker said they all have there glitch.

I do have a question... and please keep in my that I’m not into technology and don’t understand somethings.
Question... If I put any gps app on my phone it will not drain my service data (service date is not unlimited) But if I put any gps app on my tablet and use my hot spot... Then my service data will get drain before the end of the month if used every day. Is this correct?

If you’re asking about the Garmin app that goes with the gps, I haven’t had any data issues with it connected to my phone, and I cross into and out of Canada five days a week.

The cool thing about the newer Garmins is that you can update the maps and firmware thru Wifi (the others may as well, but I have never used them), and when it's connected to the Garmin app and hotspot on your phone or tablet you can access traffic and weather on your route without buying the special Garmin plug that has the antenna in it for the onboard traffic.

    Silverdriver Thanks this.
