I’m in the process of ordering a new truck, my current truck has a DD15, 505 hp, 1750 torque with 2.64 rear ends. It just doesn’t pull up a hill like I want it to.

My new truck will have a Cummings, but I am torn between the productivity with efficiency hardware or the performance. I’m looking for a nice balance between fuel economy and pulling power. No more than 80,000 pounds.

The productivity with efficiency hardware option would have 500 hp, 1850 torque and probably 2.84 rears.

The performance option would have 525 hp, 1850 torque and 2.84 rear ends.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    So, I have both trucks.

    500hp / 1850 tq efficiency
    sleeper truck

    585hp / 2050 tq performance
    day cab

I can whole hearted say they both get the same milage ( In my applications )

    Pulling between 80,000-100,000 I'm averaging 5MPG - 3.91 rears with 18 speeds.

The 565 X15P I ran at my previous job would only get 4.7 tops. That was only with 40-46k, 2021 W900 18 spd 3.36 rears. Had to keep it at 1800 RPMs for it to do anything at all, anything below 1500 it was useless
