KW/Cat temp gauge

My guess is this is an aftermarket mechanical gauge, it which case replace the whole thing. Cheap and available at any local auto parts store.

Once the copper breaks the gas lets out and no more worky, worky.....

 

When I had my 94 Pete E model Cat, someone had install similar gauge, I went back to the OEM style(Electrical). Of course, I had to replace sending unit also. To answer your question @Goodysnap already answered it.

 

It is one complete set up, as it is an mechanical guage. The guage comes with the sending unit, wire and guage. Not sure if you crimp the wire or not. The new style has a hot wire.

 

My '93 KW came oe with electric gauge. If there is a nut or spade terminal holding copper wire to sender it is an electric gauge. I had problems with the electric gauge showing 10 or 15 degrees higher when lights were on so I purchased an oem mechanical gauge that was as mentioned all one sealed system from sender to gauge. No repairing that if the cable gets broken. Yes I know, probably a ground issue but it was the 3rd KW I had had the same problem with.
