Hello. I have a misdemeanor on my record, carrying concealed weapon, from 13 years ago. So far I’m sure I’ve applied to almost every company that offers CDL training and they’ve all turned me down because of the misdemeanor. I have a spotless MVR and have been with my current job for 15 years driving with my class B CDL. Any advice would be appreciated.

Do not volunteer information where none was requested. Answer the questions directly and to the point.silverspur and austinmike Thank this. -
You may want to look at getting the misdemeanor expunged, call an attorney that specializes in expungements in the same district that the conviction occurred.
I had 2 felony drug convictions from 28 years ago that I knew would disqualify me from being hired as a driver. It cost me about a grand and 6 months of waiting but was successful with the expungement.
After that, the attorney said that even if I'm asked directly if I have ever been convicted I can legally say no.
As a side note, only employers and such will not be able to see the past conviction. For the courts, law enforcement, border crossing agents, etc. it will always be there.austinmike Thanks this. -
You’ll be fine. I’ve got a record 3 pages long and I haul hazmat tanker.
Good luck ! -

Expungement of a Misdemeanor Conviction in Georgia — Georgia Personal Injury & Criminal Appeals
Toward the bottom it says All misdemeanors are eligible for expungement except...
Below that is the list for felony's.
I don't see conceded carry on either list.
My felonies were from Oregon. In Oregon to this day states that felonies can never be expunged but since mine were pot related and Oregon has drastically changed their view on that subject over the years I thought I'd give it a try. My attorney gave me a maybe at best but in the end it worked. If I would have relied on just what I read on the internet it would never happened for me.
I know you said your friend is an attorney but I'd still reach out to someone that specializes in expungements.
A phone consultation should be free and what do you have to lose?
