You and I are going to have to agree to disagree on this. 5 years ago I would be on your side, given the craziness of the times we live in I would have to put my personal safety first. I would call it in to the company and whatever enforcement agency I could find that was interested, local, state, sheriff, motor carrier enforcement, but approaching a stranger with criticism is a definite no go in these times especially around a place like Chiraq

See I wouldnt call company, cops or authorities. I'm not a snitch, I would say something to the driver. Guess I'm just a dumb hick that hasn't lost his nuts.

I agree that coil load is a disaster waiting to happen, and yeah probably somebody should have said something. For that matter, why did the shipper even let the idiot out of their gate?

but let’s look at all the posts on this thread. We have pictures of skid steers and end loaders and other crap going down the road with zero securement. Did any of those guys get grilled for not saying anything? This is the “hall of shame” after all. Is there a rule that we all have to educate the offending driver before being allowed to shame them on here?

@JonJon78 is a regular poster around here. He seems like he knows what he’s doing and overall seems like a good enough guy to me. Sheesh.

Remember, I’m not far from you so I fall into that hick category too. Discretion is the better part of valor. I don’t think calling someone Is snitching. No nuts lost on my part, just value my life for those that depend on me. That chain job is so jacked up it shows the individual has no pride in himself or anything he does which indicates to me it is not an individual I want to engage.

Wait, Yes I would call the cops, authorities if you tried to help someone stop from killing people because they are not trying.

I will help a guy that is trying and didn't know better. People are not as crazy as you think. Or at least people respond well to me. Or choose not to respond poorly.

That coil hauler doesn't need an education. If he's smart enough to throw chains, then he's smart enough to tighten them. Fact of the matter is, he doesn't give a ####. Only lessons he'll learn from is an ### whoopin' or intervention by the DOT. Even if he did take advice well, it's going in one ear and out the other. Might tighten that one load, but that'll end after that one load, and he'll be right back out there on the road tomorrow. That person needs removed from the truck for good.

But after all that energy put into this one guy, his load is still better secured than 95% of all dry van loads on the road. What's the difference? Out of sight, out of mind? This thread would get a lot bigger real quick if dry van sides were made of plexiglass.

Your right and I thought better of you and the other guy. My wife, kid, friends, family, enemies travel this road. Ill take one for the team and jump in. 99.9 percent of the guys doing it wrong are uneducated, not pos. I am looking out for my legacy by saying something.

I'm pretty young to say this, but I have had my rear removed and chewed for weeks by a boss. Never have lived some stuff down.

They called it building character, guess we don't do that anymore.

I dont agree with @Slowpoke KW alot. Your a chicken sheet to take a picture, post on interwebs and never walk over and offer to try and remedy the situation.

I like alot of you guys for various reasons. But as more experienced operators, it's are job to try and help less experienced operators. We ALL had first days and mistakes. I still do, but thats me.
