Vibration after brake job

Are drums centered on hub. I use centering sleeves.

 

If the shaking only happens when applying brakes, one or both the fronts could be a bit too tight. It’s not supposed to happen with ABS, but still does, till worn in. I’ve had brand new steer tires do it, after putting them on, then it goes away. Don’t know what to think about it. There’s such a thing as Truing a tire. They spin it and shave it slightly, making it perfectly round. Not many places do it, but I’ve heard of others that swear by it. Aside from maybe the new tires being inflated higher than the old ones, that were masking the problem. I’m curious what the cause is. Be sure to update if you get it figured out.

 

That's because the wheel gets forced to center with the chamfered edge of the nuts. And with newer "hub pilot", it gets centered by the hub. If the wheel can move some on the studs, it doesn't matter, because it's still centered on the hub.

 

Supposed to be but also had hubs not machined concentric. Brake drums are not machined perfect. So if drum not mounted concentric. Then you have high and low spots as from rotates and causes brake pads to pulsate and a hopping or pull. Won’t feel thru brake pedal like hydraulic brakes because the air is compressible.

 

Top quality brake job right there. Made sure caliper mounting bolt was tight.

I agree with you, but cant get rid of the vibration and squeaky noise upon breaking. I just got the new Meritor drums and will be installing tomorrow, going to leave the Meritor brake shoes which is brand new one it has only 3k on it. Let's see what kind of results I will get and will post on here. thank you again.
