I think LTL drivers make 2X the industry average because they take their fashion advice from TripleSix. I know they, and all of us actually, appreciate the countless number of hours that you have taken to study what other people wear.

    Thanks, TripleSix.

I agree. They’re going to realize that the trucks will be sitting ducks for hackers. So they will use the automated trucks for the ‘meat in the seat’ operations. Take out the bottom percentage and suddenly, the average shoots way up.
To illustrate: if the average driver makes $50k, and you remove the bottom 3rd from that average, suddenly the average pay for all drivers shoots up to $66-67k. So, if you are making $50k, you are now well below average.

For many years now, things have been dumbed down so that dummies could legally qualify and be meat in the seat. These will become obsolete, and thus, they’re going to raise the hiring standards. Not only will you have to be able to drive without cattle prods, they are going to look at things like body weight and hygiene. The LTL guys will become the industry standard.

Those of you who are currently seated meat, and 100-150lbs overweight, you have 5 years to change your habits and master your craft. Those that do not will get pushed out by the automated trucks. There will be no second chance companies.

I don't see it becoming all that grim either. Some will actually heed the warnings here and get their act together and continue on in this field, some will adapt to living off the land/grid/"Frances Mcdormand Nomadland". And others will either find a new career and prosper or go back to trying out and getting booted from the fast-food/service industry wasteland. The marginally smart ones will trim the fat and learn to live with greatly reduced funds. Others will resort to both legal and illegal side hustles to support old habits/hobbies.

Do what one must to not join the ranks of the forgotten or hated.

I love doomsday prophecies because they always turn out to be correct. Been hearing them my whole life.
