2.1 million mile truck value?

    I never put but the last 6 number in. But I also worked for a good guy that knew I wasn’t stealing fuel and he didn’t care what I put in for mileage. I did try and keep it correct because I liked to keep up with the fuel mileage even though he didn’t care about that either.

    Yeah that makes sense, it was mostly a joke. I had a guy come to work for me that had a truck with 1.6 mil miles and I put him in a new truck and he joked it would save him on duty time not having to take 10 mins for the odometer. lol

    Well that raises a few flags for me and some questions. Especially what exactly is this conversion? It must be considered a deleted or demandated truck now? Engine swap or conversion? ( I know you said conversion but just to be clear)

    Maybe someone else can chime in on what the conversion could be....

    Nothing wrong with a conversion. The twins are expensive but done right they'll outperform a single turbo conversion.

    I wish I knew more about the Acert's... They are a good set up when the right people take care of them. I just haven't heard much on the conversion and what it includes.

    I’d look at the conversion as a plus. Simply because of the cost of Turbos. Cats are expensive anyways. I love the way they run and pull. Can’t beat them. But the cost for parts, keeps me from owning another one. The overhaul is a real big factor with this Truck. More so because of the cost of rebuilding a Cat over others. Simple single turbo, keeps cost down. Most conversions I’ve seen advertised, cost as much as replacing both. The fact that it’s already done is a plus. Sure every bolt is 15 yrs old. Doesn’t mean it’s going to suddenly snap in half. There’s parts that wear, and parts that don’t. The T600 is known for having the best aerodynamics. A lot of them had a Detroit,12.7, they got the best MPGs. With a Cat, aerodynamics may play a lesser role. Because of the higher torque. MPGs should be more consistent . Heavy or light, maybe 1/2 mpg difference, compared to 1 mpg with a Detroit. I’d say if you’re going to be heavy most of the time, the Cat gets a few points overall. Mpgs shouldn’t be much less than others, if any. It’s definitely a great engine. Top of the line. Lots of power. Great drivability. Parts are expensive. That’s the price you pay for being a “Cat Man”! But you get to pass everyone else going up a hill!!!

    2 choices.

    1) remove the engine, build a cradle, use it as a generator, scrap the rest.

    2) drive it down the the Tex/Mex border, and walk away.

    not too many people will touch that, but i suppose some rube would.

    The Truck,running, needing an OH would be worth abou $8-$15k. With a blown engine, $2-$5k. With recent $39k worth of drivetrain rebuilding, $22-30k. That’s my unofficial opinion. Being a friend, that is a real friend, both should want a fair deal. The actual price paid, is less important than the amount needed to be spent, after buying it. It’s going to cost $12k a year, maintenance, without any major repairs. Having the major repairs done, just helps insure success. Another big cost is tires. Newer tires will give you another hedge. The rest is minor inexpensive parts that any Truck in the same price range will need. More of an aggravation, than a financial burden. If your willing to do the minor things yourself, it will pay off. If you pay $120 an hr. Labor for simple stuff, it will eat you alive. That goes for any used Truck. Those T600s are great Trucks. Tried and proven. Bruce Whatshisname did a similar build for a “ friend” of his. T600, 12.7, 13 spd. Total was $60k. Still needed paint, and new seat. I don’t need any “friends” like that. Lol. You get what you pay for.
