Hazmat endorsement and twic now gives you precheck status

What I learned is when you buy your ticket, if you’re doing it online you have to make sure you enter the number there.

The first time I tried to use my TWIC card I did not know this, and at the check in counter the lady did not know how to enter it, so I didn’t get to use it.

Later on I was told you have to make sure it is entered when you buy the ticket, or possibly get there early enough to have them add it on.

On my next flight I made sure to enter it, and it was awesome to be able thru the short line and not have to remove my shoes.

 

I was late to a flight a few months ago and didn’t select precheck on the ticket form or anything, when I got to the airport they looked at my license then put me in a line with nobody in it, I got through security in 2 minutes vs the other line that would’ve taken an hr. Maybe this was because of my hazmat endorsement? I never signed up for precheck. I would’ve missed the flight if didn’t get to use the precheck line.

 

No ####? How do I get this perk?!

 

Thanks for posting this. I'll get to annoy my wife and leave her to go through the other line by herself. I'm not sure that's a good way to start a vacation though.
