I'm just a man that lives in his truck with a cat. I was all set to go to Texas after this thread was started too.

Halliburton uses pneumatics as well or they used to, they still use them just because they have the equipment. I worked frac sand pneumatics with halliburton about 2 years ago more or less, most of their work is boxes though.

Doesn't matter in any case, pay is low in both cases. Most I ever heard an O/O making was $11,000 a week and that was working for the best paying frac crew around, it wasn't easy getting those loads. As a company driver I was making 27% of the load which was about $270 depending on the load distance, everybody else paid me $150 a load.

I've heard of some pretty insane money hauling frac sand even for company driving. Crap working conditions compared to OTR driving and if it's your own truck it will be beat up junk in no time. Nobody would do it unless the money was huge.

I hauled Frac Sand to drilling sites throughout the Bakken back in 2012 & 2013, operating a pneumatic trailer.
Good times, Great memories, but definitely hard work! The money was good, but I knew this ad had to be a farce.
There is no company paying that well ($14K/week) in the oil fields right now. If they were truly paying that kind of money, there would be no shortage of drivers, that’s for sure. I would be there right now, and I would be dragging along at least 10-12 of my old friends from my days up there.

I remember Red Viking Trucker making at least double that per week when he went out to the oilfields.
