    Yikes…

which reminds me. Does it tend to get windier after sun down up there? LOL

Two nights in a row I swear the wind picked up instead of died down. Doesn’t make sense to me at all as I’m used to things calming down as the sun drops not picking up steam.

    LOL :p

Smoke tarped is when you have the front of the load only covered by a tarp i.e. water pipe..

Oh, ok… So like to protect it from the black soot smoke from the trucks? Is that why it’s called smoke?

Yep..pretty much..if your truck has weed burner exhaust where your exhaust is under the truck, generally you dont have to smoke tarp but I’ve a had a place or two that had an exception to that..

In these instances, it was to protect the plastic wrap from shredding apart.

I remember back when I flat bedded smoke tarping a load of pipe. I got to deliver delivery point at the customer and realized the pipe was going to be used as sewer pipe in a residential area where they were replacing the underground utilities! Not sure why they were worried about those pipes being contaminated LOL

Usually for the glue. It won’t work as well if there is anything on the pipe

    BigR and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this.

Just got home after 2 months out for home time and daughter birthday Saturday. Driving this spare truck has been enjoyable experience so far
A older model of Freightliner and a automatic
And…..yes I kicked the crap out of the floorboard looking for the clutch lol
I drove that model of Freightliner for years and it brings back memories. I haven’t heard anything yet on my regular truck on how the repairs are going at Freightliner . I just no the repairs & diagnosing all the issues involved was going to require a lot of jack Daniels for the tech lol
Be safe everyone and enjoy the Holiday!!

The 1st few month after I got into an auto, I was almost falling out of the seat because my arm prop of a stick wasn't there, and I kept swinging my right arm back and forth hunting for the stick when it came time to slow down for something...I miss my stick :biggrin_2553:
