Can you provide any proof of this? Or name the Company? Sounds a little too much like a "lunch counter" story to me.

    Texas_hwy_287 and slow.rider Thank this.

the only time i heard of this happening was when an owner op was training his wife in his own truck.

I don’t think the insurance companies would allow a regular carrier to do this with their trainees.

That is perfectly legal. A CDL Holder must be in the truck while a permit holder is driving. That is how driving schools teach students.

i had personally been a "victim" of age discrimination before i retired. in fact, the job i retired from hired me cuz the bossman said, he'd rather have older drivers than young ones, who seem to me more interested in just not doing the job.

but age discrimination is an all too real thing, don't be fooled by those that say it's not true.

which when i retired, i could not get to the DMV fast enough to turn it in.

as i mentioned above, and the rigermorale of what some have to go thru to get those jobs.

too many seemingly rules that are as archaic as the earth is old. bth from the companies and the Feds.

i don't know your personal situation, but when i see people going for company training, then get rejected for one little thing, like even a slight bump, they get basically blackballed for a long time.

although, i believe in due diligence, professionalism, and respect from anyone, in any industry.

the trucking companies for as far back as i can recall, got federal monies for training the unemployed. but there was never any guarantee, those would be hired. all for the "free money" they were collecting from Uncle Sam.

the merry-go-round, to this day continues.

oh yeah, when we had a cat, they were highly familiar with not only the electric can opener, but also the hand held one....

one can we had, loved the flavored water in the cans of olives.

another loved to lap up the milk from a bowl of cereal.....and would bug the crap outta you, until you surrendered that bowl...!!!!!

frosted flakes? bran flakes? cheerios? ....them too....lol...funny times.......
