Quitting ain't easy, truckin OTR, waking up in one state and going to sleep in another, always moving state to state and then go home and take a job where your at the same place everyday and don't go anywhere. I mean, drivers in their late 60's and even early 70's are going back. Pretty sure he's back on the road within a year.

did my time, all lower 48, and a bit up into Canada..

at first, liked it as it was new.

then got tired of it real fast.

remember too, back in my day, no cell phones, laptops, GPS, no cab mounted mini fridges, no in cab power inverters, 23 channel cb radios, where people actually talked to you politely.......fewer truck stops,

and back then, drivers would pull over, if you were on the side of the road....to check on you, and help you.

If a ex driver gets hold of a fancy motorhome and then starts rolling thru the states and parking at the flyn J and then that would be cool. But for us poor older retired drivers our motorhome was the 18 wheeler. :(

ya know, i even had that conversation with the Mrs, about a mini motor home. but being road weary got to me, and i don't even like driving to the mail box, 75 feet from my house!.

i like the conveniences of home. when you pack up a motor home, you are packing up your house....too much work.
