That's odd that Love's wouldn't do a retourque. Stopped at the Loves in North Baltimore OH for a retourque and they didn't even charge me to do it.

He was probably in shock that a driver actually stopped for a retorque.

You guys do know that they actually over torque the lug nuts before the torque wrench is actually used right?? You ever watched them install the wheels. Just run the nuts down and hammer on it for a bit, then when they put the tq wrench on it dosent even move before it clicks but then it turns a good 1/8th of a turn after it clicks cause the guy just puts his full weight on it. Bet if you where to use an actual dial indicator tq wrench that the nuts wouldnt move tell well over the 400-500ft pounds they’re supposed to be tq’d too.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

The reason for a retorque is to make sure that the rim was seated correctly and nothing loosened up in those first 50-100 miles. Hope you learned sonething today.

Well yeah I did learn something. I learned that you cant read a post. I never stated anything about the retorque, I already knew why a retorque is done and the reason for it, I was stating that love’s or any tire shop NEVER installs tires properly.

As long as you don't over do it you can get them seated with the gun then do the final torque on the ground (with the correct star pattern) with the wrench. I've never had a problem getting T/A to do a retorque and Loves corporate would be hearing from me if they gave me a bunch of static after showing them a receipt they sold me a tire 100 miles ago at a different location. Even if it was more than 100 miles ago that's BS. If it was in the past day or two the should have helped you.
