Looking at 2 trucks today. Both Freightliner’s one is 2007 cat C 13 with 400,000 miles 8800 hours on the engine and the other one is a DD 13 435 horse with 385,000 miles former Penske truck. The second one I talked the guy down to 29,000 and the first one with the cat engines listed at 36,000 I have yet to negotiate with that guy . Which one do you think is the better Engine of the two if they both look the same after I check them out?

Well I just got my 2017 Freightliner Cascadia DD 13 deleted at 400,000 miles. Been having emissions issues, they said the famous $10,000 box probably needed replaced as well as more sensors etc.
So I got it deleted. The shop has done lots of deletes and I know several guys who have used them. All seemed legit. Now my check engine light is on and it tries to idle up like it wants to regen so not sure what’s up. Taking it back this afternoon to have them check it over.
I’m starting to wonder if I should have bought a pre emissions truck.Jarhed1964 and NCTru919 Thank this. -
Just bought the 2014 Freightliner from my above post. I was gonna get it deleted but I don’t know where to do it. Sounds like your having trouble with your delete. Keep me posted on what happens with your truck. If all goes good I want to do the same.

Had a guy ask me for jumper cables at the Fly/J in Resaca, Ga last Monday. When I took the cables over I saw the most horrible delete job I have ever seen. Whoever did the job deleted not just the DPF/DEF system but the EGR system as well. There was a solid plate where the hot pipe was suppose to join the intake, and the Delta-P sensor was just hanging loose in the air - just swinging back and forth. When the engine started it sat there surging and stumbling like it was about to fly apart. The guy said he had just bought the truck. I told him to take it back but he sounded like it wasn't an option. I didn't know what else to say.
Jarhed1964, NCTru919 and OldeSkool Thank this. -
I will say this. The truck runs much better and smoother with the delete. I sure hope they can get it right.Jarhed1964 and NCTru919 Thank this. -
They told me it’s a parameter they didn’t get set right and to bring it back Tuesday so they can fix it. The main guy that does that is out in his boat . I’ll update on Tuesday.
Jarhed1964 and NCTru919 Thank this. -
