    They extended loads too?

    I can't see why.

I am still hauling medical equipment and use the exemption all the time. It is still needed but I agree not all things should be exempt

How do you use it exactly? Can you give an example of how you run?

Since I transport medical equipment I log into the elog and enter personal use other enter coved 19 and my order number. I don't have to log anything else. I don't worry about drive time or breaks. If I wanted to I could drive till my butt falls off but I don't of course. I take my breaks when I want and sleep when I want. Remember the old days of paper logs? Yup that's it. I get enough rest and don't have the anxiety of constantly looking at the clock.

Aren’t you supposed to take a 10 hour break if you use the exemption and get it delivered? I haul medical as well but hardly ever use it.

    Trucker61016 Thanks this.

No. The way it’s worded says 10 hour break once you return to your terminal. Hauling livestock feed is just run PC all week long and then go off duty once I got home on Friday.

I wasn't aware that they extended it. Can you post the extension please?

Just so you know, there is this in the FAQ...
The emergency declaration states that after completed work under the declaration and returning to normal operations, a commercial vehicle driver must take 10 hours off. What if there is nowhere at the location for the driver to park?
The driver may proceed to the nearest reasonable, safe location to obtain the required 10 hours of rest.

This is the exact wording of the exemption
"When a driver is moving from emergency relief efforts to normal operations a 10-hour break is required when the total time a driver operates conducting emergency relief efforts, or a combination of emergency relief and normal operations, equals 14 hours."

So in your case if you are moving from feed lot to feed lot you would be fine sure. However, the folks that, for example, haul medical supplies one day and kitty litter the next would need a 10 before the non-exempt load.

After you finish your load if you have been driving for 10 or more you are required to take a 10 hour break
