Congratulations on being in a minority situation, that will do him as much good when hes out on the road and he needs a new wiper as a shovel in a rainstorm.

Keep one under the bunk and replace your stock when back home. Just was trying to say it is not "dealer only". That shovel might come in handy if your stuck in the mud in a rainstorm. With a 2001, parts will start to get harder even to get at the dealer and have to think more outside the box vs finding them @ every truck stop or AutoZone counter.

My Napa and Carquest both carry them. They are not a dealer only item. You can get them @ John Deere dealers as well.

Few years back Speedco sold me a set of RainX wipers. They had an adapter, didn't like the RainX blades so I removed them and the adapters. Haven't been able to locate the adapters since. Sure would be nice, I too would like to get away from the OEM blades.

I put the scrub blade adapter on my Kenworth. Got tired of looking for the bolt on style. Turned out most of the cheap wipers u can buy at any truck stop work. Just throw away the mounting hardware that comes with them and snap the adapter on the little bar in the blade. been using them for over a year now

The Scrubblade adapters are sold at most US Pilot Truck Stops or from their website: H.D. Pin Adapters

Need one too for my 2003 Kenworth T-800 split windshield. Hard to find in Canada.

Here's a guy showing how they work:
