Was using Garmin 760 LMT ( 6 or 7 years old) and last week it started having difficulty acquiring satellite reception, and when it did, it would lose it intermittently, performed a hard restart/ reset, and that made no improvement at all. Around the same time period the Bluetree Tom Tom ELD unit started to act unusual as well, and it was necessary to manually enter location everytime duty status changed, contacted Bluetree and they said the Tracker unit is not reporting GPS, and needs replacement or service, at first I thought maybe both devices ( Garmin and Tom Tom) were being affected by same cause, since there was some increased solar flare activity last week, but if I'm not mistaken, the Garmin should have its own antenna, so last night went ahead and bought a new Garmin 785 LMT-S, thinking I was long overdue for an upgrade, when I first hooked it up, it instantly acquired satellite reception ( Beaumont TX) , but when I started driving this morning, same issue presented itself, and during 4 hour drive to San Antonio, satellite reception would intermittently come and go, sometimes being lost for 15 to 30 minutes. Went into settings and checked to make sure location was enabled and everything is on. Has anyone else either previously, or recently, had this same issue ?

Curious if Ridgeline ever checks out this forum, he would have an educated answer for me.

Maybe it's the Chinese repossessing some of the satellites.

    BINGO!
Same thing I have been experiencing with my 780 for the last few weeks!
My route is upstate NY to South Florida and back.
It happens with out warning and last for a minute or two or as long as 30 or 40 minutes or more?
It’s really puzzling because it can happen with completely clear skys and no mountains to interfere?

I have trouble with my phone at home keeping a connection on one game I play on it. We have the mobile wifi device that we also use for the tv using Roku, it also keeps dropping out. This has been happening off and on for the last year. We have 3 cell phone towers within a 1/2 mile range. Not sure what is going on, overloaded broadcasting lines, shift in the satellites in the sky or what. We don't have 5g coverage here, but I wondered if it had something to do with it. So I guess it's not just you or us now, good to know.

Thanks for the reply, as I stated earlier, Solar Flare activity was really active last week, and may still be, and can cause disruptions in satellite communications, also skip conditions have been really prevelant lately on cb radio, which is another indicator of solar activity. I'm starting to believe it wasn't necessary to purchase new Garmin, but as I stated, felt time for an upgrade and the Garmin 785 was on sale at Loves until end of June for $ 449.99, so now my old one is a spare.
