The vantraxx is similar to Holland. Limited problems and normally no problem rebushing, replace slider pads, latches what not. Normally repairable more than needing replaced.

Was thinking of just replacing, current original slider and axles are going on 12 years old and some structural rust and components are getting pretty rusted and
Metal fatigued. Despite the under carriage of trl and suspension and truck being washed weekly in winter time with a
steam cleaner and soap. The #### road chemicals have done quite the job on the trailer suspension.

Trailer itself is in great shape. May just patch it paint it and sell it.

Give a local trailer shop the trailer VIN and they should be able to look up what slider box will work with your trailer.

You should be under $5k out the door for a new slider box.

    Here's a question for everyone.

I just priced out a new control arm assembly for that suspension and it's $312. The genuine Meritor control arm assembly is under $600. I would imagine even if the bushings are not included you would be able to press new bushings into there.

When I first bought my trailer I took a really good look at that that suspension and it doesn't seem like that bad of a job to change the control arm.

Are there other issues or problems with that suspension or is that the main issue?

I realize not everyone can do their own work but even if you had to buy the bushings you should be able to easily do that job under $750 probably less even.

Also just to say there are certain things that it's a much better idea to buy a new piece then have them welded. Unless it's a very small issue and you have an outstanding welder welding is usually just a temporary fix.

Its certainly not an easy job, that sucker is HEAVY.
Then again I didn’t have the proper tools for the job so I rigged stuff with boards, hydraulic jacks, load straps, scissor jacks and made my own bushing press.
You will also most certainly need an impact wrench and a torch.

They list it as 118 pounds. I would imagine it's a much harder job if you don't have all the right tools.

My other thought or comment is have you done any recent work on your trailer?

In other words my trailer has new airbags and shocks it has new air cans new slack adjusters new s cams new brakes and drums all of the bearings have been gone over and repacked new wheel Seals new leveling valve Everything adjusted...

My point being if your trailer is in that kind of shape if you buy a new suspension all of that most likely will have to be done over again.

That's a good amount of expense and time if you do it yourself.

Have you considered just buying a new control arm?
