    *flatbed*

Delivered my short load over the Memorial Day weekend today. Took my 34 in OKC to have dinner options at Cracker Barrel. Then drove into Brenham Monday morning.

So unload and get my reload information for plastic pipe from Brownwood TX going back up to Valley NE. The load patterns on the flatbed side are really nice one you learn the pattern.

Strange. I went to get my radio serial number to activate and discovered it was already active. Double checked with DM if it was already activated but he said no. So I guess it’s possibly been active this whole time and I could have been listening to it and I didn’t even know… lol

All SiriusXM radios are on free until June 6th I believe. After that you'll need to be registered. Actually I don't think all the channels are included in the free preview.

So as those before me, things in life change.

Last week I mentioned I needed to be in Fremont on Thursday this week.

Unloaded the plastic pipe in Valley this morning. And after unloading, dropped trailer at their facility for them to use. Afterwards, bobtailed up the road to Fremont.

Once in Fremont, threw away some trash and compiled my belongings (wasn’t much, as I knew what this week held)

Let Travis in the shop know I was there, let Chris in parts know the truck was there. And went over to safety to pick up last quarters bonus check (which i need to mobile deposit)

Shook hands with a few people and loaded up my things into the company van to head to Omaha.

I cannot speak highly enough of this place. And being on the flatbed side, either I know what I’m doing (someone else can judge) or the company really just doesn’t bother you unless they need to, never had one bad exchange with a single person or planner here. Always paid my detention when needed, never had any problems on any check, and grossed over $1800/wk regularly. Hit $2300 WITHOUT sign on bonus. Cannot speak highly enough.

But with that. I live in East TN, “I go home every 3.5 weeks” is almost due to freight lanes. Though, my formal agreement is “2-3wks” this weekend to work best.

But life changes, I’m needing to be home more frequently for my children. I probably could have asked for options within the company. But living where I live, I understand how difficult it would be.

Don’t really have full plans moving forward. I know what I’m going to be doing. But nothing worth writing home about.

I appreciate the insight and input from you guys. And if anyone has any questions about the flatbed side at FCC I’ll do my best to answer them with “dated” knowledge.

I REALLY don’t wanna be sitting at the airport right now. I’d rather be picking up a load of fence for Cali.

I feel ya. I might’ve been at FCC, but I don’t want to be out 3-4 weeks at a time.

I’ve enjoyed reading your posts and good luck to you in the future. Keep us posted on what you are doing next. The gone for weeks at a time Otr lifestyle isn’t for me either. Fortunately I live in an area where you can make it well on just 5 days out a week. Being home for the kids is more important than chasing a dollar anyway.

Ya, when I went to the website to look up the channel listings I saw they were having a special free event. That makes more sense now.

    Family Comes First!!!

I highly doubt I could do OTR until my current stage of life with kids out of the house and second wife helping her family. OTR actually allows me to visit friends and family more than a regular job.

I am very sorry to see you go and we will miss the updates from the flatbed side of the Yard.

Feel free to come hang out with us here anytime.
