    #### DOT are hunting.. I'm right now getting a LVL 1 Inspection at the fuel pumps of the Pilot in Tallahassee...

So much for what I said about FL dot taking it easy on us FL guys..lol

I pulled off at the exit, pull out into the road and see a dot truck coming. He followed me right to the pumps then is giving me an Inspection.

Shame on the mess or something

Is that even legal? I was under the impression that inspections could not be conducted on 3rd party private property without the property owners prior consent.

You guys really need to learn your rights. HE can write all the tickets he wants but if you know your stuff, you can have all that stuff thrown out in court and to ad insult to injury, you can go after them for downtime. I dont usually preach this on here but this gets out of hand. COPs cannot violate your rights on a "HUNCH" that there "might" be something wrong with the truck. Same with roadside inspections where they stand in road to flag you over. Now if you have a light out or something they can visually see wrong or permits out, thats fair game.

And what right is the officer violating? No, not something you heard at the truck stop counter, but what law/regulation prevents the officer from doing this?
Simple fact is, if it's not specifically disallowed cops are allowed on the public access of any private property.
As for doing an inspection, LEO's don't even need a hunch to pull you over. Commercial changes all the rules.

Next thing we hear about, they’ll be waking up the drivers sleeping at the fuel island to do inspections.

I thought they couldn't pull you over just to do an inspection. They have to pull you over for a different reason, and can then proceed to do an inspection if they want. I can't remember where I read that, or if it was even an official source though.
