I'd rather go work in an income tax free state and get paid $35/hr, well I'd rather go back to getting $40-45 but those days are gone.

I like SD near black hills but not much work there unless you go to WY.

Come on down to Texas. Careers are plentiful and the pay is good. FL doesn't have income tax either. But I feel businesses and regular ppl will start to leave that state after 2026.

I used to work in Texas, only issue I have with TX is that wages have remained stagnant. Probably cause driving in TX is easy, most people don't like the cold.

Florida has even worst wages, what happens after 2026?

Who knows maybe it's supposed to be under water by then. Buy some scuba gear, or maybe just start selling it to the delusional.

Not sure what area of TX you worked in or for who. But there are plenty of high paying companies in Texas.

And last Nov ppl elected to raise the state minimum wage to $15 p/hr in FL so it will go up gradually from $7.25 p/hr to $15 p/hr in 2026.

Yup......and prices of goods and services will go up as will housing and rent prices. They have been playing that game in Tucson Arizona for the last several years. So.....the people that were making 9-10 per hour a few years ago are now making 15........but......that 15 isn't going any further than the 9 or 10 did!

So what is the alternative? Homeless people in tent cities? I am a staunch market economy supporter but in the global economy where other countries paying lip service to free market economy rules, subsidizing companies and whole industries something needs to be done in order to preserve the social order.

But $15 p/hr is going to save everyone and everything right? At least thats what old man bernie was saying along with others. Ppl will find out that with the rise of minimum wage. Inflation will rise also and that $15 will have the same purchase power as did that $7.25

Minimum wage wasn't set for career jobs. Its for high school and college students. And unskilled adults working a burger joints and etc. I wanted to make money so before I joined the Army. I went and got 2 trades. Then attended college in the Army. This way I could make more than $5.15 when I got out.

So you think all of the union career jobs in this country are available for anyone qualified? Or do you think it's not on what you know and your experience, or rather who you know gets you a job at the union gig paying way more than a minimum wage.
P.S. As much as I don't agree with many statements of the guy he has a little point here.
