Honestly every terminal is different, and just like every other job out there right now we're hurting for help in all depts. Definitely call recruiting and see! Ik they lowered the requirements for hiring on new teams, but I think you have to go out with a trainer. But definitely call recruiting and/or the service center where you would want to work out of!

Yeah we make pretty good cash especially being as young as we are I'm 29 and wife is 27. We're currently saving up everything we make. No bills other then our phone, car and insurance atm, so we're saving alot up. Been thinking about opening up a hobby shop/coffee shop in a few years possibly. Depends on the state of the economy and such. But right now we're content driving and stacking our bank up.

Nice. You both deserve it, teaming is tough. I hope you guys will be able to coast through life on easy mode in a couple years or so, after your hard work. Again, really cool to see successful trucker stories.

Thanks! That's definitely the plan! I always encourage other young couples to get into trucking as well. It was definitely life changing for us. We went from working dead end, barely above minimum wage jobs to making more money then we know what to do with. So we are just saving it for now.

I'm around your age and was in the same situation that you and your wife were in before I got into trucking. I know what you mean. It has absolutely been life changing.

Who pays teams more then r and l that are actually good companies? I know places pay dollar a mile but want you to stay out 4-6 wks and they never have the miles they claim thats why they pay so much money to even out.

How often you haul hazmat? You run wild what did you average mileage wise and net pay? Where did you run out of? I live in Georgia team with my wife for fedex contractor looking to go estes team or r and l? How are they about additional hometime are they flexible or just only 34hr reset? I want consistency for my hard work.

I ran out of Nashville. Old dominion or Estes pays more than r&l but when freight got slow before the covid crap Estes was slow. I left to go to r&l and they weren’t slow at all. Then after Covid we stayed running normal. Hazmat was prolly 40% of the time. I only ran wild a month. But the pay was more running wild than with my bid. We started Sunday night at 6pm did Nashville to LA to Seattle to Kansas City then to Dallas to Atl home. Usually was back Friday 3am. Had all day Friday sat sun then back Sunday evening. I avg 2600 gross. Took home 1800. Pricks about additional home time honestly. It’s not like a otr team. You can use personal day or vac day if you got it for extra time off. If you wait a bit you could get a bid where your home daily. They had a KC bid out of Nashville. One drove there one back and you had like 5 hours in between next run. Can go home shower and eat and it paid 2100 week each. Running wild they kept you Moving but you won’t run wild long. I didn’t hate them. Truck ran 75 and was brand new Pete. I just was done with road. I make almost same pay and sleep at home every day.

Thanks for quick response very helpful. Sounds like a solid company for teams. I like otr dedicated gets boring and your pay is set and delivers tend to be strict. Also getting additional home time dedicated is impossible with and trucking company. #### 2600 gross and estes and od pay more? How much the check at estes and od then 3k a week? Lol i love there trucks go 75 tired of going 65. What out of these three companies you recommend for teaming the most? Where do you work making the same and home every day is it solo?

Also do r and l terminals have showers and gyms? Do you have enough time to shower? Do they have a terminals near or in Atlanta Georgia?

Since rlc doesn't do per diem how did that work during tax season? Can you claim per diem on your taxes at the end of the year if so did you benefit more not collecting per diem weekly and claim on your tax return instead? I own a house and file married jointly so im already 1099 long form on my taxes this year. Getting married in August and just bought a house.
