Previous owner of my truck let me fuse for my marker lights get loose over the years and when I got the truck that fuse plug in was melted a bit. My question is have any of you just taken the fuse box off and wired it to one of the fresh spares ? It looks like I big job but I don’t know what else to do as this one is melted and works a bit then will start to flicker obviously.

If youre in a kw, the real fix is to more or less redo all the wiring in the fuse/relay panel/replace. its not just that its loose, water runs down the panel corroding things. Markers and headlights tend to go first.

Its not a hard or particularly difficult job, but its time consuming and needs meticulous attention to detail

Kenworth sells a kit to replace the melted section in the fuse panel.
Its a bit of a pain to do but certainly doable.

Does that require removing the whole box

Ok you’ll have the same fuse box I do. I had a similar problem with mine and found that the plastic piece that holds the pins in place broke. It’s been several years ago but I think what I done was after removing the box and the panel from the box was push the pins back in and put a dab of silicone on the keeper (I think it was yellow) and reinstalled it then let it cure before I reinstalled the fuse. I haven’t had any problems with it since.

This is what it looks like when ya get it out, it’s not all that bad to do FEB5B3BC-1085-496C-94E2-DFED616DF4FF.jpeg

Why Kenworth didn’t make these fuse blocks all individually removable is beyond me.... should be able to just pop it out and replace it.

Get yourself some more foam weatherstripping from the hardware store to reseal it to the cab as well.
