    Did it work?
Where is the data to support this exponential increase of more than double the viral transmission reduction? If anything, this would actually be like how most filters physically work; diminishing returns as you add more filtration.

An initial 30% reduction of transmission with a further 80% reduction would lead to a total reduction of 54%. That's a lot more logical.

Otherwise a 30% reduction jumping to an 80% reduction is like Person A is using their shirt while Person B is using their poorly fitted N95 mask.

    Yet:

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/23/mit...ndoors-at-6-feet-or-60-feet-in-new-study.html

"“We argue there really isn’t much of a benefit to the 6-foot rule, especially when people are wearing masks” since everyone in the room is breathing the same air, Bazant said in an interview. “It really has almost no physical basis because the air a person is breathing while wearing a mask tends to rise and comes down elsewhere in the room so you’re more exposed to the average background than you are to a person at a distance.”

"In well-mixed spaces, “one is no safer from airborne pathogens at 60 feet than 6 feet,” they said."

Once again, two or three guys have taken an entertaining and informative thread and drug it completely off topic.
It seems to be the same guys each time and it needs to stop.

    This thread is closed.
