Don't leave challenger for atleast a year. The experience you get from there / experience letter is worth gold.

Everyone will tell you to switch to their company but the grass isn't always greener.

Most of them are just trying to get a referral bonus cause they can't survive on the mileage pay.

I don't think I would leave Challenger period, they seem to have some really good short-haul/regional gigs in Ontario. They also have City and LCV, so that's pretty cool. Seeing more Challenger O/O's out west here, and they seem pretty happy.

Yep, the Bison guys never stop recruiting lol.

Also, I guess their entire company is trying to go LCV/City, cause Highway (OTR or Regional) is literally intolerable.

Challenger isn't a bad company besides the pay. They have many options, flatbed/bulk (garbage), reefer and dry van. You can choose what you like for the most part. If challenger paid 55 cents per mile I would stay there permanently. Not sure how things are now with the covid nonsense but when I was there the miles were steady.

I've been with Challenger for 35 years as an O/O but have no idea what they pay company drivers now.I assume it must be decent since they have many long term drivers.

Running hard on recaps as a company driver the most I made for 2 weeks was $2500 after tax. The average was between 2000-2300 bi-weekly. Wasn't the greatest. But as a new driver it's not bad starting out. 44 cents per mile. Not sure if it's different now.

I talked to a few owner operators who work at challenger at they all seem pretty happy. One fella had one truck with challenger and now has 3 with them. It'd be cool if challenger had more variety in routes, rather than straight east coast 90% of the time. Glad you are happy with them.

Does Challenger still do the 1 year contracts? I would go to ERB after you get 1 year experience. My trainer said she cleared 90k last year doing LTL

ERB has driver facing cameras from what I heard. Not sure if you want to give up some freedom for money.
