Relocating for LTL/Linehaul or other home daily work.

I don't tip. So I feel I'd be suffering some sort of comeuppance. As far as moving for the LTL/Linehaul or fuel hauling goes, I'm looking at taking a week or two off from my current job just to declutter/purge the apartment of all unneeded bs. Then the week after, go house/apartment hunting in either of the two cities(ABQ or Denver). After that, put my big girl pants on and just deal with the fears.

Of course if I've learned anything from my CA-to-NM relocation, it's that I move better when traveling light. So if ABQ or Denver metro does happen, it's definitely going to be an empty apartment or house for me if it comes time to bounce from those cities. Air mattress on the floor, cat toys for the cat.

 

$1100 net if I'm actually hitting three, "Hartley TX to Platteville CO and back" loads back to back per week. 5 on, 2 off. Of course that could easily be derailed by tankers not being clean and having to wait for one.

Biggest thing I'm trying to do is get a Chevy pick up paid off before making any serious moves. Call it the sunk cost fallacy on that one over why I haven't gotten rid of it. That and I'd like to get back into sleeping in own bed everyday(I'm a night driver).

 

Yeah, the gig isn't that bad as long as the loads stay consistent. But after seven years at the same place, it might be time to switch it up.

And as much as I've been trying to do the apartment/house thing, I guess the UPS box and efficiency place will have to be something to be less stubborn about. The way I see it, my work hours with a line haul will probably negate the need for any place fancy. In and out the door in the dead of night, no time to give the 20 something urban neighbors any thought.

All in all, I'll find a way to make square peg fit.

 

On the other hand, doing that might be the ticket. Live in something like that until I get money/experience squared away and then scoot. I don't think there's any way I'd be planning on settling anywhere in CO. So got to make the whole thing be temporary for as long as possible without making it seem that way.
