I got hit by a Stevens Transport in that parking lot once. He tried to run. I had to jump out and chase him down in my socks.

I can tell you one thing that happens in Texas truck stops is If you see a suburban type vehicle or full size van, or mini van cruise around the lots they are sometimes looking for a truck to hide illegal stowaways on. They will find one and people will jump out of the vehicles and hide up in roof air dams on tractors. Under vehicles or in pick up truck beds on car transportors. Seen them get into dump trucks. Unsuspecting truck driver moves them down the road to another place.
All part of the traffiking game they are playing. I don’t know how they choose. They gamble on whether and where that truck is going for sure.
