Sorry for the dumb post. Got a good deal on this truck but it needs a few minor things. Figured I would try to fix it all myself. This is my first truck as I transition from company driver to owner op and need a little help. I've searched and searched and cannot find anything on this. What is this thing pictured? It has a couple of lines broken off of it that are slowly dripping what looks like oil. How to fix? Don't even know the name of this to look up info on how to fix it. Thanks in advance
Help. 04 Freightliner. What is this and how to fix it?

That there is not OEM Freightliner. That is an add-on automatic greaser.
Its a Groeneveld product. -
Thanks for the info. Now I can at least look up to see if I can find parts for it. Do I just fill that reservoir with grease? It's bone dry but those lines coming off of it are dripping oil

That is a constant grease dispenser. There should be small lines from it running to most of the grease fittings on the truck. Every ‘X’ number of minutes of run time, it injects grease into the fittings.
Worked for company that had them on some units, great when it worked, pain when it didn’t. Took a very thin grease, almost pourable. -

I'm just going to remove it completely. I put some new connections on and got the hoses back where they should be and it doesn't work. I'll just have to grease it manually from here on out.

Probably better in the long run IMO. Gets you under the truck more often where you can check everything over regularly.
JRut Thanks this.
