    Just
    Say
    No.

it’s your job to ensure it works, not repair.
Though seals in a QRV are simple, changing the valves out themselves should go to company shop, unless of course it’s your own.

Alot of that depends on the company you drive for. Larger companies and megas usually have a system in place to deal with mechanical issues. I work for Swift, if I have any problems, I have one phone number I call and they arrange things. Never been asked to do any mechanical repair I didn't feel comfortable with.
But, smaller companies, I expect, may kinda need the drivers to be able to accomplish minor mechanical repairs like changing quick release valves.
I don't think there is any kind of codified rule on what types of mechanical repairs a driver should be expected to accomplish or not. It is just whatever arrangement you work out with the company you drive for.

Can you fix it in a few minutes as opposed to waiting who knows how long for road service?

If it was something that I could easily fix and take 30 minutes of my time (for example, not saying this will or will not take that time), as opposed to waiting 90 minutes for road service, why wouldn't you fix it? That's an extra 50 miles down the road you are, 50 miles closer to deliver and 50 miles closer to home. I don't think this would be a "safety" issue that needs a mechanic to sign off on.

Are you hourly or mileage pay.. that would be my biggest factor.. mind you I splice a rubbed line this morning rather than wait for a service truck or drive compromised. I can bill for it but it took 15 minutes so not worth it Least I got brownie points lol

I'll tell you more. I'm a driver not truck fuel technician to fuel it, not tire kicker, not a meteorologist to foreseen road condition.
There is why they want autonomous trucks.

Depends on the company's expectations and job description.
