"So why'd you decide to go out on your own?"
"Well, it's a long story. Do you know what an inverter is?"andrewsdad, spindrift, kemosabi49 and 11 others Thank this. -
The thing about buying all of this heavy stuff for the truck is this. If for some reason you are fired, from a company driver point of view, you might not be close to home, but close to a company yard. If you can't carry it all with you, it's not going with you. I've scrounged a microwave from the trash bin before and even $300 worth of chocolate, which was probably OSD. Call me a low life, but i ALWAYS hit the dumpsters and roll offs for goodies when I have the opportunity.

It means nothing to buy an inverter and fridge if the money is good. If it’s not, now is the time to switch companies.

The company wants no misunderstandings in the future. Your comfort is not their concern. They are there to make money not coddle the help. At least you know upfront how they see you.
