Texarkana, AR to Brownsville, TX

    I would appreciate some route suggestions. I have been to Brownsville once. Went there from Laredo. Then from Brownsville to Chillicothe, OH. I have never gone there heading south from Texarkana. Thanks in advance!

    Lots of deer heading south past Houston if you choose to go that way.

    Me I'd just go Atlanta over to Hearne then down depending on what time of the day it is. Avoids all the cities and the arena you would be driving by on the short way. Both ways probably the same amount of time if you factor in backups.

    Could cut a little off and head south from Crockett but I planned you a poop stop at the loves and grocery stop at Atlanta walmart :)


    (Note I did this from memory there are probably better ways but I used to go that way quite abit a few years ago)

    If you can get through Houston in the off hours, then US59 down Carthage, The loop on the west side of town to Tx315 south to US259 south back to US59 at Nacogdoches. Stay on 59 / I-69 / 59 through Houston to Victoria, then US77 the rest of the way.

    FYI - There's a scale house on 77 south of Kingsville that's sometimes open during the day.

    Why in the blue #### would anyone run down through Houston to go to Brownsville?

    I30 to I635/20 in Dallas around to I35E S to SA to I410 around to I37 down towards Corpus exit Hwy 77 S to Brownsville.

    It all depends on the time of day, perhaps. But going through Houston is @80 miles less and you do miss Dallas and San Antonio. But most of all, you miss that mess at Austin, unless you don't mind the tolls.

    Why the 49,220, 20, 79 to get to 59 when you can take 59 out of Texarkana to begin with.
