After seeing that list, the exemption is strictly commodity specific. Looks like, the same commodity may or may not be exempted depending on what stage of production it is in or what purpose it will be used for. I don't think I am able to find my answer. I'll just do it on regular HOS. It would have put me home 3 hours earlier though.
I thought of driving off Duty on PC in 150 mile radius which would have satisfied the second split break and when out of zone I d switch back to driving line.

The rates are just slightly lower where I run but ever since the holiday, volume of freight on the board has dropped significantly.

I was consistently getting well over $3 a mile, all miles and not running 150 mile loads to get it.

About a month ago off the top if my head i remember a week i got $4000 for a 700 something mile load out of florida. Then $2700 from NC to Ohio, then $3700 from OH to MD, 500 or so miles.
That was a sunday through Friday week.

I can't get remotely close to that anymore

$2/mi is break even for me but my overhead costs are much higher.

Are you talking $2/mi after the carrier your leased to takes their cut and deductions?

If $2/mi is the total gross amount then your doing something wrong for sure.

I lease with Schneider. The loads on their load board are what we see after they've taken their 35%. Those same loads, I rarely see anything over $2. To give you an idea just the other day I seen a hazmat paying $1.26 a mile

Honestly man that seems low. My owner op gets $1.90/mi and that’s for all hub miles so loaded or empty. I even pay IFTA, tolls, liability insurance, cargo, trailers, ELD, etc.

DAT country wide average says 2.72 so that would be 1.77 average for you after everything. If you really know what your doing and hustle hard then 50 cents over the DAT avg is attainable. So that’s 3.22/mi and 65% of that is $2.09/mi.

That's because Schneider scams their drivers.
You don't even really get 65%.
Ever hear of Schneider logistics? They are a Separate company from Schneider national.
In by doing so they can broker loads to themselves and keep how ever much they want.

Do you really think a big company is booking hazmat loads for sub $2 a mile lol.
    They screwing u drivers.
