Been trying like a mad dog to get onto those "shuttle only" positions with them, Ben E Keith and the like. Had some interviews but they led nowhere and was left feeling like the egg was on my face. But, it being the year that everyone doesn't want to work, I should resubmit to them too and take that shot.

Prescott's an awesome place to live, but be warned, it's expensive.

What place isn't? At least that area doesn't have the added minus of both "high prices + dealing with a harsh winter" like the only place I'm getting any job offers from at the moment.

FedEx Freight--and I think every LTL company--is hiring like no tomorrow. This is a chance to get into a CAREER, not just another job. Take a look at Old Dominion, Estes, FXF, Saia, R+L...you deserve better than what you've been saddled with. The Year No One Wants To Work can generate great dividends to those who show initiative.

Already put apps in with ODFL, Estes, and FXF. Of course it's a matter of forcing myself to relocate to places like Denver that will hire me right away. Versus the more warmer climates like ABQ and Phoenix. Just had some line haul apps for ODFL get turned down(aka the GFY email). Might call them back anyway and grill them back.

I mean the Denver area could work. But I don't picture myself buying a house or settling down there. Maybe 4-5 years tops.

If you drive a diesel pickup that’s deleted, don’t move to AZ.

I'm aware that the OP is unlikely to move, so this is for anyone wondering about actually doing a relo to work for one of those companies.

Estes will only consider applications where the home address is within 75 miles of the terminal. You can use a local address to apply, but need to be prepared to back it up and be ready to move and start work quickly if they call, it might only be a week or so the way things are.

IME, ODFL is more flexible about potential relocation for hire. They give a lot of discretion to the terminal managers, so if the manager thinks you look good on paper and you show up at the terminal for the interview, you have a shot just like a local.

Again, they need drivers right now, so dawdling and kicking rocks ain't gonna get it. Limited time opportunity and all that.

So, you're saying it could quickly go back to being an employers market once again? Maybe it's time invest in a travel trailer and live light. Only way I could see myself moving immediately is if I got fired for the umpteenth time and the only place willing to give me a shot required a move.

I'm not taking your statement as an insult in any way. If anything, I just got to find more reasons to want to leave immediately. Stop worrying about hurting feelings and making enemies.
