I asked the corporate guy are you serious, we can’t even use the CB ?
He said no we can’t !

later on they didn’t enforce the CB ban.
    But everyone was like…
Surely you can’t be serious ?

Swift had driver facing cameras way back when, when they were first installed . They didn't last that long and now we only have forward facing cameras.

Still, they can catch you doing stuff you are not supposed to be doing.

There was a video not too long ago of a driver that was in a bad accident due to distracted driving.
The driver had a tablet set up so that he/she was able to watch videos while driving, and that led to the crash.

It wasn't just the crash video that we were shown, but a compilation of clips over a several months period of time.

Swift is big on safety, so they were not watching and documenting those clips until the driver was involved in an accident.
The driver would have been talked to and/or fired long before that.

No, they were clips they went back to find after the fact.

We do not have driver facing cameras, but the forward facing camera can/does record reflections off the windshield.
And that is what all those clips had shown. Reflected images of movies playing in view of the driver, the driver fiddling with it, etc.

It seems all that past footage is saved somewhere, so it will be for every truck in the fleet.
(That is an incredible amount of storage space...)

They may not be watching us every second of every day, directly. But they can go back in time to view certain things if they feel the need.

How to beat driver facing cameras.
Set your phone/camera as far forward as possible on dash. Take picture of yourself as you pretend to drive. Print out picture. Tape picture to dash right in front of driver facing camera.
You will always look attentive as you drive(HaHa) down the road.

This amuses me in way. Let ask people that hate having the facing in camera. Do you own a smartphone, tablet, laptop? Because if you hate having the facing in camera on a truck. Then you hate having a camera on your phone, laptop or tablet. Welcome to the 21st century ladies and gentlemen. When you walk into a grocery store or mall they have cameras watching you. So, here's I say about if your driving for a company that does have one. Deal with it. It's there really on there side for insurance reasons. But if you can't handle it, then save up and get your own truck.

No. I think I’ll go work for a company that actually doesn’t hate their drivers instead.
