TransAm has a dedicated Houston turnaround out of Dallas.
You'll have to call and ask about that one concerning pay.
OTR drivers pay is way below industry standards.
Don't know if the dedicated route is any better or not.

Yeah... but with only 2 months experience I wouldn’t be so quick to leave. I would check and see what other opportunities exist within the current company before jumping ship.
austinmike and slow.rider Thank this. -
YR Freight is hiring in Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.
Union pay scale. You might get on there if you have the endorsements required.
YRC has their own school now, so need drivers.
I think the terminal is in Irvin,TX - within Ft. Worth.

If it were me I would make a point to spend the night at the truck stop and get a shower during my 10. No matter how tough your day was, after a good shower you'll feel much better and learn to sleep like a baby. You have to want to have good hygiene in this industry. As you likely witness when fueling, many elect to forego this critical piece of the puzzle. I suspect if you keep the interior of your truck orderly and clean and try to bathe daily it will go along way to feeling better both mentally and physically. The days are long, sometimes I start at 4 am and finish at midnight, you will get used to that part in time.
Hang in there, your hard work will pay off in time.Mototom, Accidental Trucker, TheLoadOut and 2 others Thank this. -

Food service or soda delivery might be your best bet. LTL would be better

A small two sided bucket some shop towels and a sponge help with the shower problem. Doesnt replace one but helps keep the stank to a minimum if you cant catch a shower for a day or three. Also keep lots of babywipes in the truck. I keep 2 3 packs for every week i plan to be out. Their good for minor cleaning and many other jobs.
For food and drink there are literally hundreds of options. As for a break thats what shipper time is for. You can also get one of those adjustable TV dinner tables that will give you your at a table feeling.
Biggest thing is to tough out a year or so then find a better carrier.slow.rider Thanks this.
