FCC--Fremont Contract Carriers

A question for those drivers that constantly take loads out of Dallas, TX towards Aurora, Lincoln and Fremont Nebraska ...
How are you all getting around that ridiculous construction on I-35 North and South?
I went through there today and it just drain my clock!
What back roads are you all using back and forth?
Any info will be greatly appreciated!

 

Going north you can exit at OK29 and go east about a mile and you hit US77....run it through Pauls Valley (tight R hand turn in town to stay on US77) and run it to OK145 @ Paoli and turn west and you pop out at Exit 79 by the Washita Casino. Takes about 24 min total, so depending on backup it may or may not be a benefit. This also works going south, although I see local rock haulers jumping off at Exit 79 and staying on the west side of the interstate and coming back on at Exit 70 but haven't been in a position to follow them and learn that route.

 

You can stay on 77 through Paoli which takes you to Wayne then to Purcell. When you get to the light in Purcell turn left and I-35 is 1/4 mile. That McDonalds just before the entrance ramp to I-35 has truck parking on the north side of it also.

If you turn right at that light there is Ruby's Inn and Restaurant about a 1/4 mile on the left and on your right, across the street from that place, there is a huge gravel parking lot for truck parking. If you continue straight ahead on that road through town, (don't turn right at the light to follow 77, keep going straight), it will dump you right back on to I-35.

 

I've stayed at the McDonald's before, where I struggle for parking is south of Denton on I-35E. I've stopped at the Border Casino many times knowing I don't have time to make it to Lancaster but have time to make it past Denton.

That construction on I-35 looks like is going to be in that condition for many months; just yesterday on top of this at 4:00 A.M. I had to deal with a drunk driver swerving all over the interstate and almost hit the guardrails at one point.
I just called the hwy patrol and let them know that that there was a ...”Happy drunk driver putting other drivers in danger “.

Those rock trucks you're seeing are probably running 74 & 19 which would be out of you way but definitely is an alternative route if need be.

19 runs out of Paul's Valley west to Maysville and then 74 up to Purcell and I-35 at that McDonald's if you ever need it.

On a side note, does anyone know how someone apparently managed to run over the sign at the Fremont yard?
